The Getty is an amazing place. It is a huge collection of artwork that is on display for free. (It does cost $10 to park there, but if you ride your bike you can park for free.) It is displayed in a magnificent modern looking complex
that sits on top of a hill looking down on the LA basin.
It houses a large collection of painting, sculpture, and decorative arts. They also have a collection of photographs. I didn't look at all of it. It was too much to see in one day. The complex itself is amazing. Even if there wasn't anything in the buildings it would have still bee worth driving up there just to see the architecture, the gardens, and the view. I highly recommend the Getty to anyone, especially if you ride your bike.PS. I left at 2:30ish and didn't make it home until five. That's traffic.

YAH!!!! What piece/artist/section was the most spectacular? Did you wear spandex the whole time you were there? So fun!
Looks like it was worth the traffic and time. I have discovered that in order to not just sit on my couch all the time, I've put some miles on my vehicle and spent some $$. Sanity is worth it, don't you think? Glad you're back blogging! The blogosphere needs the scooter report.

I lived in Los Angeles for 30 years, and saw the museum being built out of my office window. I lived 10 minutes from it, and frequently just went up there to hang out. Miss it.
